It would be best for the pup to hold the mother down, pet her, put the pup up to her and have it nurse. The mother's milk has some things in it that puppy milk replacement just won't provide. Is the mother trying to bite or hurt the pup? If not, you can then show it to her to clean it. Cleaning it is what helps stimulate it to go to the bathroom as the pup will not do it adequately without the mothers stimulation during the first few weeks or so. If the mother refuses to clean the pup after feeding it, then take the pup and use a large cotton ball dampened with luke warm water and massage the area where the pup pees until it goes a bit. Sometimes it will go a tiny bit- then massage some more-goes more, etc. then do the same at the anal area. It might not poop after every feeding but should do so more times than not. Do this after every feeding- making sure to feed every couple of hrs. In between feedings you can set up a cardboard box with a towel on the bottom, a heating pad set on low and a towel folded and tucked around the heating pad and bottom towel. Put a furry large furry stuffed animal in there with the pup. Sometimes it takes a mother a few days to adjust to having a puppy. The mother's milk is what it needs! Also, it would be good to take the mother and the pup to get checked by the Vet to make sure there is not some physical problem that is causing the mother to be uncomfortable with the pup. Does the mother have a semi- secluded place to nurse the pup? does she have a whelping box where she can nurse it? GL with you pup!

First and most important is that they will eat. I was given puppies too far gone they couldn't eat. Thank goodness they'll still eat. I don't know but my guess is to be on the safe side maybe every 3 hours? They will stop when they're full. If you have to sleep through the night, make sure to feed them b4 bed and when you first get up. They are most fragile now, I had an abandoned tiny kitten with it's eyes closed and work exhausted me I couldn't feed it for 2 days and it died.

every hour or two depending on the size of the puppy. also if they are not peeing, you will need a warm wet rag to wipe their bottoms with to make them go. this is why mother dogs lick them so much. it has to be stimulated the first several weeks.at about 2 to 2 1/2 weeks their eyes will open that will help you judge their age. their fedings will start getting further apart as they will eat more at a time. at about weeks start introducing semi solid food. cannned food or puppy food soaked in mlk to make it soft. asap take them to a vet though. good luck!!

You need to get advice straight away from a vet or someone similar.
They will give you the information and correct formula to be as close to mothers milk as possible.
Cows milk is not good to give to young pups.
Different countries have different named products.
I live in Australia, so they have a formula called Di-Vetalac, or something similar to rear baby animals if the natural parent is unable to.
Wishing you all the luck, but do contact the vet for advice.

What a beautiful person you are! The pups will let you know when they are hungry. You're in for a real job, hope you have help. When you switch to solid puppy food, add water and let it get a little soft. good luck. Bless your heart!

You can't feed them powereder milk that will give them runs. man you an get canned dog foor for pups and then you mush it down and add water. make it pretty watery and you show them how that is when they are about 4 weeks old younger go to the store animal store and buy milk for them for them. they can't digest the cow stuff.
