well, I am in 7th grade now, and I had a bad habit that is suffering me since I was in the fifth grade. (pulling my hair all day) When I stop pulling my hair, I will feel very very unconfortable, but when I start to pull my hair again, my head will hurt. What am I suppose to do? (By the way, my classmates are teasing me about it)

at least you are on the right track realizing that you have a habit and it certainly is not good if you are pulling so hard that your head hurts to control or slow down the habit you need to make changes having your hair shorter may help. Asking help from your parents is another idea.Wearing clothes that are a bit different to what you normally wear may act as a reminder to stop you from pulling. As a habit is an action that you do without thinking try to change your normal routine so that you are reminded not to do it. Anyway that's a few ideas and try to think of some yourself as this could be helpful so good luck !!!!

hmmm this is a good one. do you pull it so hard that it comes out? Is your hair thinning or breaking as a result? If you are actually pulling it out I would go and see your doctor as it can be one of the signs of obsessive compulsive syndrome (don't be freaked out by that lots of people have odd little habits) If you do this alot you will damage your hair for good. It works along the same principle of waxing your legs if you do it consistently hair follicles will eventually give up and not regrow. This will result in thinning or worse a bald patch. I'm sure you don't want that. Your doc might be able to suggest other strategies to help with this. I have a friend who has a rubber band to play with when she gets anxious or uncomfortable. I hope this has helped. Don't suffer as you might do some lifelong damage to your hair. Bum to your classmates - ignore them they are being stupid.

Get a short haircut that way you wont be able to pull your hair and once the habit is under control you can then grow your hair back. Failing that always wear your hair up in a style that makes it hard to pull.

Talk to your parents about seeing a therapist or talk to your school counselor. You could have stress issues and you don't need it getting worse. In the meantime, take steps to stop yourself. Maybe French braid your hair to keep it away from you. Or distract yourself in another way, play with a Rubik's cube or something to keep your hands busy.
