Hi,
I'm 16 and moving to a new school and i want to make friends, but i am not pretty or thin. What characteristics can i adopt to make friends easily and fit in quickly?
What do you think are desireable characteristics?
How shouldn't i act?
Any help would be appreciated

what you looked outside does not matter cos only shallow minded people cares.

well, whenever i meet someone new, i've always take a short while to get to know that person better before becoming friends with them. I've always looked for someone that 's open-minded( you don't want to be friends with a racist, sexist...you get the drift), got a sense of humour and seems at ease with themselves and have self esteem, not arrogance.

Don't be snobbish. Spiteful. And don't look as if you'll do anything to get into the crowd.

Well, i wish you luck at your new school.

Just be yourself. Someone who wants to be friends for being thin or pretty isn't a true friend.
Don't try to 'fit in quickly'. If you try to speeden up, people will think you're easily vulnerable to false image. Stay cool, stay calm, you will naturally make friends because there will be other girls like you wanting to make friends too. Good Luck.

In my experience being completely myself have left me with only a few but close friends. So sometimes you'd feel lonely. More to the point what I found that I look for is someone who is interested in you as much as you are int rested in you. Someone who listens and accepts you for who you are and makes you feel better about yourself. Those in my opinion are things which I like in people.

I think honesty is important, and having an interest in something is appealing - whether it is a sport, hobby, social group, even reading or art and craft. It gives you something to talk about.
