the semi-finals features all European teams, the first time it happened since 1966, ITALY, WEST GERMANY, FRANCE & POLAND. ITALY won the 1982 FIFA World Cup, beating WEST GERMANY 3-1 in the final. it was their 3rd World Cup victory.
Paolo Rossi of ITALY won the Golden Shoe award as the top scorer in the finals with 6 goals & also the Golden Ball award as the best player in the tournament.
