This was nearly identical to my question about 4 weeks ago. When I was 6 and a half weeks pregnant i woke up one morning (had been having mild cramping the night before) and when I went to the loo I had blood on my tissue. It was brown in colour....bit like the end of my period. I called the maternity ward for advise and they suggested I go down there for an internal scan. I too saw the heartbeat...which was great. The bleeding continued for another three days (not heavy) but then it just stopped. I just answered another question a minute ago about cramps....and bascially i was cramping for the first 8 weeks of my pregnancy, then I had that bleed too so i know how worrying it is but sooo many of us get it and go on to have healthy babies...to be honest when I was bleeding if someone would have asked me what i thought was going to happen Id have probably said I thought I was going to miscarry but here I am at 11 weeks pregnant, with no more bleeds since and even the cramping has mostly gone(still get the odd day) I know its easy for me to say dont worry too much but hopefully answers you get on here will help to reassure you that so many of us go through this and all turns out well. Goodluck to you x

Dont worry, brown spotting is normal. So is a little fresh blood spotting....anything more for fresh spotting and a Dr should be consulted. Right now your body will be doing strange things and worring you every second day. The heartbeat has been heard, it would take something dramatic to go from a strong heartbeat to major concern!

ive had exactly the same im 17 weeks pregnant on my third child and when i was about 10 weeks i had brown discharge for a couple of days nothing too much but it was worrying. The doctor then done a few swabs to be on the safe side. I found out i had an infection and had to have antibiotics. Ive had nothing since but i still get the slight discharge. You should be fine.

I had brown spotting with 2 of my pregnancies and bled on the same two at 8 weeks. I was told brown spotting is usually 'old' blood that sometimes pools just above the cervix slowly getting through or sometimes it can be the cervix itself as it changes with pregnancy hormones. I had no problems both times and went on to have two wonderful girls. I had no bleeding at all with my last pregnancy and that, believe it or not worried me. Good luck x

If you are in the early stages of pregnancy, this is fairly normal. I also had it every few days until the end of my pregnancy when I had my twins. Had loads of scans but there was never anything wrong. Presume as you had an internal scan you are in very early stages - as long as you have no pain you should be ok. Good luck.

Bleeding during pregnancy is never considered "normal", but bleeding during the first trimester is fairly common. Between 20-25% of women who go on to have healthy babies experience some bleeding in the first trimester.
Of course, if you have more than slight bleeding, or you have any pain or cramping, you should call your doctor. It could be a sign of a miscarriage.

It shouldn't be anything serious, because you are 19 your hormones could be readjusting. If you recently started birth control, or take birth control that also could be the reason. New medications, physical or mental strain among other thing such as diet.
