No, they tried that with my Mom, I had to sign a DNR because she was really bad, they wanted to put a feeding tube in her, I told them not to, she would not have wanted that if she could talk, she had Alzheimers really bad and I had to watch her suffer and deteriorate. I would not want that for myself, either. I knew a couple of people with feeding tubes and all the did was cry and they got really bad infections where the tubes were.

No way. I do not want to be a burden on NO ONE. That is not a life, (for me I am speaking) God knows the agony that the person is probably feeling also. I know I would, and I do not want to be kept alive by any artificial means. I have a Living Will that states that and want the *plug pulled* as soon as possible. It is hard enough to get by in this world being healthy, and being like that is for sure NOT any better.

No because i wouldn't want to be a burden on my family or friends, i figure if it gets to that point i would rather pass away and live in peace then suffer and being fed throe a feeding tube for the rest of my wakening days. that's so sad. but i would tell my family to just let me go for there sake and mines.

first of al, you must answer the question: "do i still want to live?" if no, away with the feeding tube. if yes, the next question to answer is: "are there other more comfortable ways of feeding myself other that through this feeding tube?" if tes, then by all means shift to that method. if no, better stick to the feeding tube.

The good thing about Alzheimers is that I wouldn't care. My Grandmothers brain died many years before her body did. When I was young I remember my mother saying that my grandmother was "too mean" to die. Later I found that she was right. She forgot how to talk, walk, eat and eventually how to breath.
