I am an idiot!!!!!!!!!!!! i did not mean to ask whether I would die if I knew the meaning of life. I meant to ask if the ambiguities of life are the best? I mean if i knew the meaning of life, my inspiration and will to live would die.

A more serious answer to your question depends on what you mean by "meaning of life." People generally use this term when they mean "purpose of life," but use the less precise but more common term because they haven't thought it through.

Figure out exactly what question you want to ask.

What is life? Isn't life aways now? Life has no meaning. By looking for meanings people think about past & future, & are not fully in life. This is what Jesus meant when he said " I am the life, I am the truth, I am the way. Not that he was but the I am is. I am is every ones most basic awareness is it not? Or one might say life is truth. Good question.

You're not an idiot; you're just a curious and maybe worried human being who made a mistake in a rush.

Raj Narayan said it right - my opinion: You would not want to die if you knew the meaning of life; you'd want to share it with others. If not for something else, then for profit perhaps! Trying to put it on paper and hoping to make a bestseller, maybe!?

The meaning of life depends on how one lives life. It can be processed and analyzed through history and dialectics how others, living and mostly now dead, lived their life, and judge through our biases and prejudices if it was lived right/wrong, full/empty, etc. We can also go to various religions on how humans and human life with a Divine Being.

The meaning of life is variable on the consciousness of the one asking. It can be ambiguous as concepts of self-fulfillment, etc. One may know(?) or miss the meaning of life seconds before one's death. For me, it's not the meaning of life but the "well-meaning and well-being of MY LIFE, YOUR LIFE, and EVERYBODY's LIFE." Have a meaningful life as you want to live life.

If you knew the meaning of life then you would know that death does not truly exist. The perpetual search for knowledge is what drives us eternally. The quest to be our "whole" being, to experience all the different facets of being, which never ends, since the probabilities are endless.

I think when you know the meaning of life, you will wish to tell that to another person. You would love to find someone who knew it as well or else feel terribly lonely. Its hardly that you would want to die.

I don't think you would die. Why would anyone want to know? Is it not more fun to look at a wrapped gift and imagine the possibilities of what;s inside than open it and sometimes be disappointed?
