It is the weekend, we are on YA, how much sadder can you get?

I do take your point. I think a good deal of it is teenage angst - which I remember all too well.
Some of it is breaking relationships - very sad. And some is the pain of loss and illnes.
The great thing is that sometimes the rest of us can help.
However!!!!!!!
I'm having a quick look here before going out for a walk. I've just finished doing the work I love. When I get back home I'll have a nice lunch.
Me, I'm a very happy man.

This is the Philosophy section in the wee hours of the morning (in my time zone anyway). People are thinking to the point where they are less able to feel simply joy and they're tired.

at the end of all this, we die any way. we keep on living for practicly no reason at all. you cant say that we're making the future a better place because we aren't really. how do we know that something good occurs at the end of our lives? that's why everyone's sad :(

because we are spending time on here rather than being out having a good time! that's a reason to be sad!

Therefore what you perceive is an actualization that is shifted from your own perspective.
