He is not telling you the truth. Federal guidelines which most if not all states follow indicate that once unemployment is applied for, a check is not issued automatically. Depending on the state there can be a waiting period for as little as 7 days and up to 3 weeks. This is when the state goes and verifies the information they received. This includes speaking with the last employer. If there are any discrepancies in what was submitted and what the state verified, a letter will be sent denying the claim. This can be appealed.
The key during all of this is to continue to file a claim every week the person is unemployed. If there had been a discrepancy, denial and appeal which is resolved in the persons' favor, they will receive all the monies due to them.

Generally, the waiting period comes off of the first check. If there was a dispute over the amount on record & the amount he had on his pay stubs, then, there might be an additional waiting period with an amended amount, which would be paid in additional checks. Sounds like he's up to something. Ask to see his award letter. I live in California & your state could be different, but I doubt it!

i am really sorry to hear all of this. i can't believe he has been hurting people like this. if i were you i would have a very long talk with him. tell him that if he has another girlfriend he should not be living with you anymore. explain to him how you have been treating him so well and buying him things that he needs and maybe could live without. he needs to realize how he is hurting others. you should not have to suffer with someone else in your house that has someone else he loves. this is ridiculous. i can see that you are a kind-hearted person because of all the things you bought him although you shouldn't have spoiled him like that because you knew he did this to two other girls. and now look what's happening. you really don't deserve this treatment and don't deserve to be living like this. if he still doesn't leave after the talk, i would talk to a lawyer or the police. just tell them the situation. even counseling might help. an idea would also be to show him these answers. see how he feels about this. i wish you the best of luck :) god bless!
