Dear T, 4 wheel drive when engaged powers the front and rear wheels at the same time so that they are driven. Use it when the road or off-road surface is slick and traction is low such as rain, mud, snow, etc. It should help to maintain control of your vehicle in adverse conditions when driven responsibly.

4-wheel drive , means all four wheels are getting power from your transmissions. Use 4-wheel drive in the mud, snow, ice. This does not mean you wont skid on the ice or snow, you will! One important thing about your 4-wheel drive: DO NOT drive 4x4 on dry pavement!
