Seriousness of the debate exists even now. Mankind will be the cause for the global warming, even as caution on the methods being adopted to overcome the same is being debated. Alternate sources of fuel, exhaust free systems, making cheaper devices contributing for elimination of wastes safely are few of the steps should be made affordable to all in the globe.
Actions initially and the results thereof will act as motivators.

Have you checked out the temperatures in the US Midwest in the past few days? Winter is still winter and it was colder than in Antarctica...Look it up!
Will the debate ever be "over"? It is unlikely, as long as any miniscule rise in temperature within the past few years can be readily explained away by simply saying, "climate ebb and flow". Throughout history, the temperature pendulum has swung back and forth. Are the polar caps melting right now? Perhaps. Is this unusual? History says, "No". They have long been known to melt and re-freeze in varying masses. The world is still here somehow.
Even if it were proven beyond doubt to be a new phenomenon, just what could Americans do about it? Basically...Nothing! Would we tell developing China they must curtail their use of fossil fuels? You need look no further than China to determine which country is, by far, the biggest polluter. In reality, man is such a small contributor to the alledged problem and has no more power to stop climate change than we do a meteorite hurtling toward us. So, why indeed then would anybody get all flushed about a natural event that we have no power to stop? Why even worry about issues over which we have so little control? Do we not have enough to fill our small minds? Why...indeed?
Those public officials who push this idea are to have their motives well-scrutinized. Are we to believe Al Gore, who, at one time, made the false statement that HE created the internet? I ask you, if he did not have this debate going for him right now, would America even know he still exists? Wake up and smell the smoke...there is an agenda being foisted upon us all here!

i can see why you would think so but no
britan reports it has exceeded koyoto targett ie denial ,
claims china ans india have to do thier bit
THEY DIDNT CAUSE IT.
australia ,the highest per capita contributer claims it has been on the job for a long time ,that all cabnit is on side [allways was ]according to the next wannabe pm ,now minester for environment ,claims hes got it all under contral,l with nuclear ,and clean coal ,both 10 year plus projects ,they are great at spin ,and still global hollow cost denier's
we are still getting the spin,
waiting to see /hear the us position
who expects anything different is being fooled big time.
they are so sure spin still works ,and guess what it will
todays news wraps tomorrows garbage
save the day cause the big destraction is on the way.
the debate has been shut down,
they know they wont be in power when the poop hits the fan ,they just need to get re=elected for the short term
and guess who writes the his-try.
it was news for a few days ,the fossal fuel even made the un dumb it down before the scamists ink dried on the report.
the media is a joke ,but the distraction comming up must be big they [the deniers ] seem so confident in thier spin.
play the game its only words ,botth sides of politics are astill after the big money ,even big buisness has unhooked itself ,did you hear how big buisness has demanded govt guidence
and thus we slip further behind lame promise
of a safe nuclear future and clean coal.
the deniers have done it again .spin wins ,we hear the right words and claim victory then its buisness as usual
the debate is over
back to work

Nope, it will never be over. You should help save the planet in as many ways as possible! Especially is you are fed up with the global warming argument.
1. Recycle
2. You public transport, more often
3. Plant a tree :-)
4. Turn light, computers, TV, radios etc OFF when not in use

yea i am stupid and believe every politically motivated report that comes out, so yes now i believe in global warming too.

You would think that if the entire issue were settled the world would have gotten at least slightly warmer since 1998?

i guess they will say the fact that the world has actually cooled slightly since 1998 is further proof of global warming.

These people can't predict the weather accurately 5 days in advance but we're expected to believe that the know exactly what will happen in 50 years?

As long as it can be politicized to get an agenda, to work out a certain way, (dont matter what side) there will be the global warming BS.

#1 greenland was once forested
#2 those ittybitty lakes, you know them uh...lake Michigan lake superior....ect...were carved by what? How bout glaciers!
#where did the glaciers go hmmmmmmm...they melted..now how bout that....was that global warming....OMG!

seriously now!!! There is plenty of evidence to support the fact of global climate change on a cyclic nature, both hotter and colder.....did man cause global warming? NO......is man a factor in this NATURAL CYCLIC PROCESS..........Absolutely, all pollution needs to cut fossil fuels need to be replaced with renewable non-polluting new environmentally friendly types. But PLEASE keep the politicians out of it, they are the surest way to get NOTHING done and spend trillions worldwide doing it

The Earth moves in cycles. Humans can do very little to cause or prevent Global Warming or Global Cooling.

The real debate isn't about proving global warming ..... It is there period, but the idea about denying it, comes from the fear of consequences of acknowledging it. WE ALL NEED TO CUT DOWN ON HARMING THE ENVIRONMENT.

Yes!!! Its over because the main players causing the global warming were the big fish themselves (like USA, UK, Japan etc), so they cut the topic so that they don't have to close any of their industry.

They have decided to bargain for global destruction than to close down dangerous industries and its a shame.

Itll never be over. THere is still people who think the world is flat.
Large companies will continue to deny it and will probably pay off scientist to show evidence on the contrary.
