It could be many reasons. Maybe it was something you said, maybe it wasn't. Either way, they are the ones acting like jerks, not you. They sound like snobs.

because some people can be FAKE, especially when they are just "acquaintances". Don't worry about them, it really doesn't matter what other people think, say or act. Your at the gym & your there to work out, you want to focus on your work out more then focus on a bunch of losers who have nothing else better to do with their lives then be "stand-offish & negative".

Maybe they are trained to be really cool to new customers and then they ignore you when you are on your way to doing the training as they were telling you to do. Focus on your goals and forget about staff.
