I know that what i m going to say here are very hard words but its true that your Boyfrnd did not loves you.
if Your Boyfrnd is saying that he loves you that really he does not loves you but he is just saying it to you because he wants to say it just for formality and he not likes you at all.
he is not having any respect to you, he is saying I love you because may be he is alone this time but its true that he does not love you.
he choose you as a time pas and not as a partner for his life.
If he is saying that he is missing you than he is not missing you he is missing that unknown unseen girl to whom he is missing he is not saying it for you.
but in his mind there is a image of a girl who does not exist in this world.
So its not your Problem the problem in his mind he is totally confused and that guy always break your heart time by time.
SO be strong and make clear that what he wants

Sorry. he wants you to like him. but doesn't want to like you back. hes looking for something else that he doesn't find in you, but wants to keep you to the side for the attention anyways. don't let him play you like that! its very immature, and isn't a strong foundation for a good relationship if hes weak in the commitment area
