Teachers' main job is to educate. To achieve this they must apply all the educational tactices available for the learning process. These learning process is what is very important and is corvered in EDUCATIONAL PSYCHOLOGY.
For instance the ability for the teacher to understand the student, pupil is very important for the teacher to make impact in that student or pupil.
When this teacher has made success, that is, gotten the concentration of the child, then the process of education can be said to be complete.

Way to go Kerry - how do you deal with your girl pupils?
Seriously, teachers who only have one teaching strategy will find it difficult to motivate every pupil in the class, because not all people are motivated by the same thing.
A teacher who only has a stick will produce a classroom of pupils who are ordered but afraid to use their imaginations, and in turn these pupils will, one day, when they're in charge, be just as authoritative, often when it's unnecessary and fail to get the best out of their people.
A teacher who only has a carrot on the other hand, will reach more pupils, but the ones that are out of reach will be impossible to control and may end up running the classroom.
All teachers teach strategies which remain with you long after school, whether the strategy is useful or not. Teachers who only pass on useful strategies, i.e. understand psychology will make the world a better place, whereas those who pass on damaging strategies encourage us to repeat the mistakes of past generations.

When a two-three month baby cries, it is the psychology knowledge of mother to sense what she wants. And when a child inters a school, she is like that new born baby in school world, and her guide is her teacher. However to understand an infant a mother's self understanding and senses work, but to understand a child newly at school a teacher needs to have psychology education to understand her student's situation, her feelings and what is she going through to help her follow the teacher with her little understanding level of mind.

When a student doesn't do well, educational psychology is an invaluable tool for inventing a plausible rhetoric that acribes the failure to entirely to the student and so protects the teacher from any accountibility.
