wow. nobody mentioned anything about the Science Channel's

"2057". well, its talking about what scientists think the world will be like in the year 2057, 50 years from now.

There were 3 categories: 1) The Body
2) The City
3) The World

1) The Body :

They mentioned - Flying Ambulances
- Intelligent Clothing
- Custom built organs from scracth.
- Robotic Surgery
- Today's Medical breakthroughs that will extend out lives in 50 years.(there was a part when a guy was having a new artificial heart beaing put in, he looks like 30, the doctor was talking saying he was as "young" as 62.)

2) The City

They mentioned - Cars without drivers
- Humanoid Robots in every household. (2057!!!!!????) - Intelligent Camera surveillance systems. (to eliminate crime..ppl are gona say, "no privacy, oh!"
- Cyber-hacking
- Today's scientific advances that will shape our networked cities of tomorrow.

3) The World

They mentioned - An invisible soldier...(didnt really care much for this one, despise war in general.
- A space elevator to the stars.. (OMG! This one was really cool, they were sayin that people actually could take elevator rides for a "picnic" in space one evening in a space station probly, dont worry about the price either, cause by 2057, major things will be happening, and the monetary system will have a very hard time staying alive.)
- Transmit the inventory of the Library of Congress via laser beam in seconds.(omg this reminded me of the games, they said that todays TV's will be a thing of the past
giving rise to 3D TV's and Holograms. There would be holograms everywhere, kids and adults will have holographic pets, they showed a kid with a bule dolphin swimmin around hit head, its was being projected from the top of his pocket on his jacket, a little light beam..a little girl came up and her pink dolphin popped out and started interacting with each other)
- Learn about technological quantum leaps that will shape our planet in 50 years.

OOOOHHH.. AND STONY IS PERFECTLY RIGHT PEOPLE!!!!!!!

Well, let's see here. I'm sure you probably think that everything will be round, all meals will come in pill form and cars will fly. This is what people thought about in the 1950's when they pictured the year 2000. In reality, things will be different bu not drastically different. Although technology is moving at an exponential rate, most other things will remain pretty much the same.

The mass monority of individuals would have abandoned numeric measurement of years. People have recognize that the environment & earth "flows" with out segmented systematic judgement. Concepts of country boarders, consumerism, production, and short term ways of thinking would be abondoned unbeleived, and forgotton. People would have already rebeled against the ignorance against their personal biological bodies and rediscover balance of humanity and nature.

Technology will run so smoothly that it will be seen as the flowing consistancy of water or wind (nature its self), influence people to follow different behavours and thinking.

Instead of people beleiving in an start and end, people will beleive the world has been an ever continuing cycle.

Overpopulation. Mass society continues to challenge the capacity of earth's support. I read an article stating that the earth's population will be forced to colonize to other planets within 50 years!

My mom is a christian so she thinks we'll die in like 10 years from now because everyone's gready. But me and I'm only 14 but I think that we'll die from pollution, ice age, the core from earth, the sun will explode or we'll die from garbage because everyone really gready and no one ever cares about people who died every day from hunger.
