I think Nietzche was the one who wrote about everyone having a place in society and that a leader could only lead by means of manipulation.

He was German who was opposed to anti-semitism and German Nationalism. He couldn't have been a Nazi, as he died long before WWII. Not unlike Charles Darwin with Christians, his work was probably exploited and misrepresented. (Darwin is commonly called an athiest by Christians because of his writings, when in fact, he was an avid Christian himself. )
