One thing to consider is that most careers in marine microbiology require a masters or doctorate degree, so its not essential to look for an undergraduate degree in marine microbiology. Besides microbiology, the most important subjects to cover in undergraduate classes for an advanced degree in marine microbiology are topics such as physical chemistry, biochemistry, biology or zoology, and ecology.
A B.S. degree in marine microbiology is a little too specialized for most schools, so most suitable programs will be at schools that offer programs in both microbiology and marine science.
