Who ARE these people who have answered this question so far? They really don't get it, do they?
Education is still horribly one-sided -- leaning, of course, toward the upper/middle-class white folk. I am one, I hate to admit. Although education has made strides in the past 30 years, we are still woefully negligent in teaching topics such as history, math and English which are sensitive to minorities, the educationally challenged (poor rural and urban schools) and those with learning and physical disabilities. We have a long way to go. We can do SO much better! Unfortunately, the powers that be cling to the old ways of teaching are SO slow to change. It WILL change, but it may take people like you to make a difference. We need diversity and some fresh voices - AND progressive ones! - to foster a change for the better.

actually in India its mainly due to backwardness and illiteracy
we have grown up wid huge population and mainly working class in India are of labourers and farmers and most of them have huge family consisting of 10 to 14 members whereas a middle class family has 4 to 5 members
so they remain widout education as economical status do not allow it where as a simple family where parents r already educated they guide there children well
so its inequality in our economical and living standard of dwelling which effects our growth

i assume by inequality you mean math ? well, if I'm right in math inequalities are important .you will use them though out your life.
another thing you could mean is you have (for example)science for 1 hour ,social studies for 2 hours and math for 3 hours ,well it depends on the school and the curriculum and also some subjects are more important than others. i hope i understood your question and answered it correctly and helped you.

Could you be more specific in the question? To which level of education are you referring?
