YES.

The filipinos in the philippines are miseducated because of Catholic influnences in the goverment.

In America. the colleges highly incourage expression of individuality. So even the best colleges there DON'T weat uniforms. and are free to express themselfs..in the philippines you are taught to ALL LOOK THE SAME..HAVE THE SAME MIND.

they don't even offer ART classes in most universitys..and they don't have Sexual education studies, or queer studies like they do in the USA..thats why the USA is so accepting .and the philippines is not..because they are not exposed and they don't understand. thats why they are so conservative.

I lived in BOTH countries so i know.

others who answer are locals and don't know any better because thats how they were raised.

I'm not sure whether miseducated or damaged culture are the right term to describe the people of the Philippine.

Most Filipinos are highly educated, but sometimes education comes to naught because of the high unemployment rate in the Philippines. That is why there is a large number of Filipinos who opted to work overseas or migrate in other countries.

What do you mean by damage culture? When asking a question, you should elaborate it so that we can give you a more rational answer, not emotional, as some would answer you.

Most countries in the world have cultures that are diverse in nature. There is no pure culture in the world. Maybe some of the culture are corrupted by others. Some of it for the worst and some for the better. When a culture is corrupted for the worst, then you could say it is damaged but not beyond repair.

Going back to the Filipinos, some of the cultures from the olden days are still there, some have long disappeared. Maybe for the worst, maybe for the better, who knows?

But what is important is how the Filipinos tried to make things better for themselves and their family, thus making the nation better.

Are they miseducated? No, maybe misinformed, who knows. Are they a damaged culture? No, they're just crazy. LOL. That's why they can survive in this crazy world.

Prostitution is the oldest profession in the world,so I wouldn't put that in any argument. Every country has a problem in prostitution.

There is certainly something wrong with the Education System in the Philippines. All you need do is look at the number of students that fail the Nursing Exam, CPA Exam and Legal Exam each year. You will find that 40 to 60 percent of the student in all these area fail the licensing exams. The Philippine National Police just adminstered the test required to join their ranks over 40,000 took the exam and less than 1500 passed. My son goes to a well known university in the Philippines and his professors miss one or two classes a week. I do not think the failure rest with the students but rest on the shoulders of the teachers. I cannot understand why the people and government do not put demands upon the teachers. These students get a diploma from these colleges and then never practice in the areas they studied because they cannot pass the Board Exams. It is a shame that many parents take every peso they have to give their children an education and the children through no fault of their own can never put the education to work. My son's classes are taught in English he has a better command of the English language than any of his professors. One of his professors sent a message home with the students asking for financial backing for a field trip and I could hardly make out what they were trying to say. The Congress passes a law that states classes will be taught in English and the next day one of the members Congress makes a statement to media no teacher will be dismissed for a lack of proficiency in English. How do you teach in a language you yourself have not mastered. Anyone that thinks the Educational System in the Philippines is not flawed is not in touch with reality.

I dont know whether they are miseducated but this is what actually there are...

Some eight million Filipinos (About 10% of total population) living & working overseas and they are famous for care-taking & nursing jobs (As India famous for IT). But they also work as nannies and domestic servants, as construction workers, as seamen, as nurses and doctors. The Middle East used to be the prime destination; now many OFWs are to be found in the US, Europe and, increasingly, in other Asian countries

Wages and salaries are so low in the Philippines that it often pays highly-trained professionals to accept much lower status jobs abroad: there are stories of headteachers getting jobs as nannies and doctors retraining as nurses

The country, once among South-East Asia's richest nations, missed out on the economic boom enjoyed by regional neighbours like South Korea, Malaysia and Taiwan, not to mention China.

While they have attracted inward investment on the strength partly of their low labour costs, the Philippines has failed to develop enough attractive, well-paid jobs at home and has ended up exporting its cheap labour to other countries.

Enterprising Filipinos will continue to seek work abroad - even low-status work in domestic service or as carers - for as long as that remains the case.

Damaged culture yes it cud b coz once filipinos were treated as slaves & women as sex slaves during the world war II so now there is an active prostitution taking part in philippines with no rules set to combat those.

Why miseducated? In what premise? Cuz as far as I know people from neighboring countries like korea and taiwan even come here to go to our schools. Damage culture? Maybe.

Ohhh, maybe you mean mal-educado o walang modo? Why? Have you encountered any filipino who was rude to you? Filipinos are generally polite people. Well, I can be rude but only when asked to ;) But we are one of the most well-mannered people in the world... the men offer seats in public vehicles, they never raise voice on women otherwise they'd be called "bakla" (gay), we always say "po" as a sign of respect when we talk, and help is always at hand when you need one. So I'd say filipinos are pretty much respectful of other people, as compared to other nationalities (a-hem!)

well... in my opinion they're not. why would they be miseducated? i have talked to a lot of filipinos who are working for my internet service provider and computer manufacturer and they're nice and sweet people. (i'd prefer talking to them than talking to someone from india). they are very knowledgeable and they are really intelligent. i dont think that their culture is damaged because everyone has their own flaws. im still ashamed that bush is our president.

and...how do you think the culture is damaged??? Explain that to me.

wow thats a mean question. one of my coworkers is married to a phillipino who is the nicest woman ever. Ive met many a fillipino who are educated and have degrees. Heck i can think of three right now in my city who are doctors in the USA. Why would they be a damaged culture? Sure they have their problems but so do we. Take a look about the fuss everyone made in boston after the innocent stunt by Adult Swim. that was uncalled for for everyone to make a big deal out of nothing.

Max has a element. however the element is the Philippines could probable be extra like Thailand (or Malaysia). The inhabitants would be a mixture of Hindus, Buddhists, Muslims, some Christians and Christian sects and the few Animists who weren't switched over. lower back to unique question >Filipinos grateful for their pre colonial history and lifestyle? i don't think of so. i think of maximum Filipnos are grateful that they grew to alter into Catholic. yet having stated that in the event that they weren't switched over, we does not be attentive to. yet they maximum probable would be very happy in spite of they progressed to be.

I don't know what world gameplan lives in but I've travelled extensively and I find the filipino people to be rude, sneaky, untrustworthy, deceptive, envious and lacking of ambition....with few exceptions. Not just towards Americans but mostly towards each other.
