Hot pants of the early 60's were something worn buy girls and they were frequently a tiny short with a half mini skirt. The mini skirt exposed the shorts because it didn't go all the way around. What are hot pants on a guy - I believe they are like the spandex bicycle shorts only shorter.

they are very short shorts invented in the 1960' by mary quant, a famous fashion designer of that time period. they are similar to the shorts us girls wear today, except then, the girl shorts were down to the lower end of their thighs!
