i went to microsoft.com and entered windows xp sp 2 in the search bar...i clicked on the link to download it but when i reboot my system it still does say that i have it installed...i checked the system properties but it doesnt say service pack 2

1st u allow your window to update automatically then u don't need to install it separately it will install automatically from Microsoft site.
2nd u can also get a copy of service pack 2 from local market
3rd give me ur location if its in my reach i will send u a CD
4th u can also get it from kaaza /lime-wire or any share software.
5th if u r in united states u can send an email and Microsoft will send u a free cd.

You need to do a window update. That will download the windows xp service pack 2 for you

As long as you have a good version of windows,, if its a bootleg or a burned copy you will have trouble getting it,, otherwise,, go to www.microsoft.com/updates and do a system scan and let it install the updates that are available, IF you have a Bootleg copy of windows,, do the updates if they will but choose them manually,, and AVOID like the plague the windows authentication update,, it will shut you down from ANY further updates at all,

You have to download it and let it install, it takes about 1 hour...
