Hi - Just bought a new 5th Gen ipod video and downloaded all my music on to it. Some songs only play for a part of the song and then jump to the next.... what is this problem? Is it an itunes problem or a problem with my ipod?

That means the cable connecting to the hard drive is a bit loose, I had this problem with my 4g ipod, I found that opening it up by using a flat blunt margerine knife & pressing the cable into the hdd firmly worked, but eventually it needed a new cable, after buying & installing a new cable it worked great until I dropped it on the floor, now it occasionally skips, so I just punch the back of the ipod & that knocks it into place again. It is caused by dropping the ipod I think, as I did this at least once with each cable installed. Hitting the back of the ipod should sort it out for now though if you don't want to buy & install a new hdd cable or open it up to reposition the current one. The pins on the cable can be very easily bent by dropping the ipod on the floor which can cause track skipping, folder icon at bootup etc.
