would a 16 be considered a small? I bought the coat in one color in a small at target, target no longer carries the coats and I want it in another color. I found it on target.com but I don't know what size 16 would be considered for a coat.

16W is for plus size woman. Like what you would find at Lane Bryant. It is probably one of the smallest sizes a plus size store carries. It is right on the edge of normal misses sizes because sometimes you cand find 16 in the misses section. And 16 and 16W are not always the same thing. If they have a size chart, that's what you need to look at.
sizing chart for target and which brands it applies to is below.

We saw "3 lines" at 16 weeks and was told we were having a girl! But at 22 weeks.....oops! it's a boy and sure enough 3 u/s later.....it's a boy! 16 weeks is really early to tell. Trust me, I would wait. You know how much girl stuff I had to take back! LOL :)

the W is for Womens sizes, which are larger and fuller cut for. A little wider and roomier than plain 16 and 18, but not significantly different.

That it is a size 16 in Women's! GAh! W means it is women's instead of Juniors or Misses. Not wide. The people above me don't know what they are talking about.

No, a 16W is no where near a small. It is actually for a woman that is slightly bigger than a 16 due to proportions.
