It seems to me that often when people ask questions like this about a 'third person' they are really speaking of themselves.

Does this "working Medical Doctor" speak proper English? It seems that one completing the difficult courses required to become a doctor would know how to handle this or likely even know a therapist or marriage counselor to confide in?

This is not loving, or fair to you. I believe that it would take alot for a person like this to change. You are doing so much to contribute to the welfare of your family, and you do not deserve this kind of mistrust, and treatment. You are an adult in your own right, and it is obvious he does not respect you, trust you, or trust others. He does not sound like he is mentally balanced. This makes life to hard to live with someone like this, and his actions are rude and unreasonable. If you have children, this is very unhealthy for them to live this way, and to see their mother be treated in this way. It causes pain in their hearts, and yours. Let no one take your life from you in this way. This is a very unhealthy relationship, and enviroment for children that you love.

well granted you cant change someone but if the wife is in a profession that deals with the opposite sex then the husband needs to grow some balls and back off.

He's feeling insecure. Either send him to school or ask if he prefers living poor.
