I know this was on Sex and the City and sounds so stupid... but is it possible to become "revirginized" (only in the physical sense) if you don't have sex for a loooong time? I don't mean in the emotional sort of sense, I just mean will the hymen and stuff grow back and will you physically sort of have to go through all that painful stuff all over again if you don't have sex for a loong time? once is plenty...

Physically it is not possible to be revirginized, medically it is, you can the hymen replaced and or your vagina tightened, so when you have sex again, it will feel like you are losing your virginity.
The vagina stretches it doesn't reverse the process on its own, so if that's what you're worried about, then relax....oh yeah and i saw that episode of Sex and the City....lol

No, it is not possible for the hymen to grow back. It is possible to have an incomplete or partial tear of the hymen after a sexual encounter. Sometimes the hymen is particularly thick or fibrous and requires a gynecologist to surgically complete the rupture.

Also, I have heard of people contemplating procedures to try to restore a hymen, although I do not think that there are any viable reasons to do this.

My girlfriend had a hernia after her two children and did not understand why she was in pain for so many years until the doctor stated to her that she had literally - excuse the visual - "ripped inside". He sewed her back up, nice and tight. She called him a day after the surgery to state that she was using a mirror, looking at it...and there was NO HOLE. After going back and forth, he assured her that she was just swollen and when the swelling went down, she would see it. Then he said, "Sweetheart, think of the gift I have given you. You are now a 36 year old "virgin". And yes...the first time after, she knew what he was talking about.

no you won't grow a hymen back but your vagina could be so used to lack of sex that it's painful when you try again... regular sex keeps the vaginal walls thick, without sex they start to thin, that's why doctors tell women especailly as they get older that they need to 'use it or lose it'

It is impossible to emotionally, or spiritually become a virgin again. You will never have another "first time." However, the vagina does tighten up after a long period without activity, and there are surgical procedures that will repair the hymen to make you "like new." But you will never be new again.
