IF the coin you are talking about is a US Seated Liberty then depending upon the condition the price starts at $250 for a VG condition/grade all the way up to$4,500 for PF.
Of course there will be coins of a lesser quality out there, under that VG grade so they would be worth under the $250. The key is to find someone who wants this coin to complete their collection and they will pay more than the grade generally.

Is it a Morgan? What is the mint, CC, O, S or no mint mark at all?
If it is a Morgan what condition is it in? Have you touched it with your hands? Currently Silver trades abut 13.40 per ounce, if your coin is not graded or can not be graded to MS 63 or better it probably worth between $20-$80 unless it is a CC mint. Proofs are worth a lot more. I suggest that you go to EBAY (where you can get a complete description along with photos) and search for similar coins and see what they are selling for.

Un-circulated it is worth between 300 to 600 hundred. Circulated with missing detail puts the price at silver value, or about 8 bucks. Try wwwcoin communities to start, then yahoo your exact coin and try the sites. It is not that rare, but still depends on condition and liberty, seated or standing, so check the sites, you may have the big letter version, with seated liberty, worth 5000 uncirculated, worth under 500 circulated. Good luck.

As long as it is real and not a counterfeit the value of the coin is between $300 - $900 depending on its condition. This is if it is a regular silver dollar. If it is a Morgan Liberty your looking at a value of $3500 - $5000.

It depends on what kind of condition its in and where it was minted and a lot of other things. Take it to a numerologist to find out for sure.
