They've made voting fraud even harder to catch.

Democracy is now officially dead in the USA. How else can you explain Bush sending 21,000 more troops to thier death when the congress both democrat & republican are against it.

If one man's opinion drives the action of this nation and our so called representatives are powerless to stop it. What kind of government is this?

A DICTATORSHIP!

MASS MEDIA --- whether that be the amount of cable television shows or the internet devoted to campaigns, debates, and results. Or how widely distributed the internet has allowed our "average Joe" opinions to become. Think of Yahoo Answers.

All of this extreme exposure can be bad. Sometimes I think that elections have become a "glamour contest" due to the mass media. Plus, news can break too quickly and that news may not always be accurate. This is sometimes the reporter's fault and sometimes this is due to negative campaign tactics.

I also think this has increased the costs of elections as politicians need more money to pay for their ads, etc. This is bad because it forces them to cozy up to lobbyists and not the normal joe like me who doesn't have a lot of money. And money means influence.

Last, think about electronic voting machines. I don't know what to think about these either. Potential hacking problems or not, I just stayed with the regular paper ballots in November. The line was actually longer to use the electronic machines than the paper ones. So I actually got out quicker using the "old school" method.

As far as 5 to 10 years from now? Who knows. More of the same I guess. Definitely more electronic voting, though. Whether that's bad or not.

Technology makes it harder for Democratic machines to stuff ballot boxes and register those already dead like the party did so effectively in Chicago for years. In 5-10 years Hillary will have made such a mess of our economy we'll give our unanimous support to whoever runs against her party.
