Testing the waters maybe? I've had several friends who were relentless to gays and in the end they were gay it just took them years to face it. They didn't seem to realize we all knew they were gay long before they knew it.

Well, everyone, regardless of sexual orientation is affected by gay issues. Whether it be because it's you, your family, your friend, your ex-husband-- it should be entirely irrelevant anyhow.

If we want heterosexuals to respect homosexuals, shouldn't the same hold true for the reverse? We're all entitled to the same things, whether it be freedom or forum-space.

Bigotry will happen no matter what. If they get too close, just fight back and take no prisoners. I know fighting fire with fire can get destructive... but conflagarations can get pretty damn colorful. Nobody likes a hater; if they want to be obnoxious, they'll get what's coming to them eventually. On or off the internet.

Karma's a bytch. ;)

Because the right wings nuts have them convinced that GBLT are going to cause all of us heterosexuals to go to hell. Forgive the bashes - they are under the spell of George Bush and Jerry Falwell and must be saved.

because some of my coolest friends are gay.

I can post on boards and "question rooms" about any sort of people.

Besides, I have to find some interesting questions that aren't:

1. "Am I pregnant?"
2. "What is 2 +2?"
3. "A boy likes me, what do I do?"

curiosity perhaps? don't be so hard on the newbies.... they gotta figure out which end is up for themselves and how better to do it than to be amongst those who are like what they wish to be?
