The simplest base that almost all kitchens have a box of is bakng soda. Simply take a drop or two of the suspect liquid and mix it with a small spoon of baking soda, if a fizzing reaction occurs the liquid was almost certainly acidic.

You can try and make some test solution to change color with the juice of red cabbage.
A somewhat more sensitive test can also be done with a common source of Phenolphthalein
If you have some exlax pills you could crush them up and add enough water make a thin liquid. A drop of ammonia will this will turn this bright pink and then dropping the pink liquid into an acid will make it colorless.

Get some red cabbage, cut it up and boil it. Take the juice (which should be purple at neutral (pH of about 7). This will be your acid/base indicator

dilute and divide your indicator into several portions. Get your liquids you want to test and add to the cabbage juice. If it turns red, it is an acid. If it turns blue/green, it is a base.

OR
Make some tea (something like Earl Grey, English breakfast, Red Rose or the like). Pour the tea into small glass containers. Make sure you keep one for comparison. Add a small amount of your test liquid to an sample of tea. If it turns darker, it is a base. If it turns lighter, it is an acid (This only works if the testing liquids are colourless.

Have fun!

put a stone or a piece of rock into your liquid. The liquid will bubbles up if it is acid.

If you don't have a garden soil test kit, try adding a little bicarbonate of soda to a small amount (wear eye protection!): an acid will fizz.
