In an HTML document (a web page) insert this into the document where you want the link to appear:
Link To Yahoo

Insert the text you wish to appear here.

for more examples, you can view the source of any webpage from most browsers. Usually, you can right click the page and choose "view source" or "view page source" and it will show you the code underneath.
If you search (CTRL + f) for the characters you can find all the link tags in the source code.

Here first:
http://www.w3schools.com/html/html_links.asp

Here after:
http://www.w3.org/TR/html401/struct/links.html

In Wiki type markup (like yahoo answers) you just type the complete address, and it makes a link for you, The complete address needs the- http:// before it to make it work. Most word processors work the same way.

Below in the source section I pasted in http://yahoo.com and as here, it made it a link.
