I hate shaving, but I am always trying to find new and better products and methods to try. Also, I have a real problem with just about any aftershave product...it really burns. I would love any advice from men out there...or women who just know better.

with warm water, wash your face with soap and water. let the soap rest for 2-3 minutes to lubricate your skin. rinse your fac, apply shaving cream, and perform the deed. when finished, rinse face thoroughly.
i was taught to rub in a light layer of shaving cream after the face dries. this serves to help prevents bumps and razor burn. it's also soothing and helpful in keeping your face cleaner shaved, with a smooth, silky feeling.

First off, get a three or four blade disposable razor and try different types of shaving gel/cream - I personally love Old Spice original shaving cream, although it's kinda hard to find. You may find that stuff for sensitive skin works better as well. Also, make sure that you fill up the sink with water and put a little bit of shaving cream into the mix and wet your blade with that - it keeps the blades themselves lubricated which will reduce irritation. Beyond that, it's kinda hard to give you a good answer since you don't really say why you hate it so much. Just shave consistantly as much as you can and eventually it'll toughen up your skin a bit and your body will start getting used to it. Good luck, anyway.

if you shave with the grrain of the hair, you will have less irritation. i have the same problem, try old spice aftershave balm. its like a lotion type thing that helped me out.

p.s. [were all mad here] is on crack, dont shave against the grain the skin on the face is a lot more sensitive than the skin on the legs

shave in the shower. use a gel shaving cream thats for sensitive skin. use a blade with three or four blades. shave all your beard with the grain first. then come back and shave carefully against the grain after you have shaven all the hair with the grain. then use a after shave that is a gel for sensitive skin. you need to use a gel for both cause that will help your skin. also shave frequently like every day or every other day.

You don't need to use expensive creams or electric razors, or anything like that.

Just use a multi-blade razor (3 or 4 blades), and lots and lots of shaving cream. Make sure you pull the skin taut, and always shave against the grain.

I know, it sounds rediculously simple... but try it. You won't believe the difference it makes.

Electric razor is the way to go. A good one will get just as close a shave as using a straight razor without the burning or cuts.

Would it help to shave in the shower so that it's easy to wet those hard whiskers real good. You could put a mirror in there if you wanted.

TRY SHAVING WITH A PIECE OF GLASS. I FIND THAT IT WORKS BETTER THAN THESE STUPIED PLASTIC BLADES.
