My battery went out while I was at the gym and this guy whom I sort of like, works there, and i called him and asked him if he could give me a jump because my battert died, and he explained that one of his client's were coming in, but he'll see if he can help me..so he called me back and said, he couldn't because his client was expected to show up any minute , but he did ask around, and one of his co worker's would help me, out...and then after that he went on to explain that he was very sorry, that he wasn't able to give me a jump himself, and that if his client wasn't coming in...he assured me that he would do it himself...now my question is do you think there is more to what he was saying, like does it sound more personal or business, and should that be counted against him considering the fact that he didn't come out and help me anyway...and do you think he likes me...oh no it's not alot to go on..but the fact that he was overexplaining himself as to why he wasn't able to help me

Well considering it sounds like you don't even know each other, how can you hold it against him? Just let it go, and if you see him again and he apologises, assure him that it was fine. It is polite to help somebody in need but if he was busy, he had a private reason not to help you or for whatever other reason, that's his right and holding against him is really just taking things too far.
