I am 14 years old and need to be able to wake up for school. I can't seem to do it. On the weekends, I sleep till sometimes 3 in the afternoon and I feel like I have missed the whole day. I go to sleep at descent hours (10-11) and want to wake up earlier. I have an alarm on the other side of my room but usually just walk over, turn it off, and go back to sleep.

And its not like I am tired in the morning or later in the day....i am fine once I wake up. I sometimes go to sleep at 2 in the morning and wake up for school at 6 am and are fine the rest of the day. ITS JUST WAKING UP I HAVE TROUBLE WITH!!!

Any ideas?

Have 3 separate alarm clocks in your room. Set all of them to different times, have each alarm go off at a different time. Set the times all to be later than the actual time, set the alarms earlier than you need to be up, by various amounts. If necessary, have someone else set the clocks and the alarms. When you wake up, you will know that the times aren't real, but you won't know which one is real and which one isn't. This gets your brain up and running long enough for you to wake up, not sure if you're late. Being late can add some adrenaline to your body. Once you figure it out, you'll be up. Another option, is if you have 3, you wake up to the sound of one, go over an snooze it. Before the timer is up on the snooze, another alarm goes off. You snooze that one as well. By the time the third goes off, you're not sure if it is the first snooze going off or the last alarm going off. Confused? Try it in the morning. It's easier to get up than to deal with it.

Do as much as you can the night before to get ready for school. Set your clothes out, get all your homework together, take your shower.

Then in the morning get up and do a couple exercises to get your body going. Some push ups and sit ups are good.

The hardest thing for almost anyone is keeping as regular of a sleep pattern as possible. Don't sleep in past 10 am even on weekends. If you have to take a nap in the afternoon but do your best to keep basic sleep / wake times within close proximity.

Good Luck.

you could do the old fashioned way of waking yourself up. Drink alot of water before you go to bed.. that will wake you up.. and another thing. is your thinking patterns. ifyou put into your mind that you want to wake up all refreshed in the mornings. then you will. set your alarm clock far enough away from you that you have to get up to turn it off. or if you have a window in your room face your bed where the morning sun wakes you up. don't let yourself climb back into bed. tell yourself your happy to be awake, and excited to start a brand new day. and make it fun to wake up.
give yourself a reason to wake up,maybe reward yourself everymorning with a special breakfast or snack that you have.
think positive thoughts about your day, and that you will have a special day because your worth it. enjoy everyday as if it were your last one, love others as if you were dieing tomorrow, be giving to others. they may need it more then you. and be kind to yourself because you deserve it.

A regular sleep schedule might help. Go to bed and get up at the same time every day- even weeekends.

But, getting up in the morning is a nightmare for me too...I know how ya feel :P

Waking at around 4 am is a recognized sign of medical melancholy, so I recommend which you get a 2d opinion. Does your GP surgical operation have better than one one education medical expert? consistent with probability you decide on a extremely distinctive antidepressant. by the way, some antidepressants take in to 3 weeks to attain finished result.

STOP IGNORING YOUR ALARM.

Hell, at your age (younger, in fact) I was getting myself up for school, making myself coffee, and getting ready. It is 6 o'clock in the morning. You're SUPPOSED to be tired. Mornings suck. Deal with it.
