Why are people so fascinated with gory movies?

Time after time, the biggest movies are distrubingly gruesome muder movies, & it seems that's they're becoming more and more popular. Why is this? WHy do we want to watch this? Curiosity? Adrenalin?

I.E. The Saw Triology, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Hostel, The Hills Have Eyes, etc.

And if people say it's because they are "funny" - why is it that no one laughs or smiles? they scream, sheild their eyes, and make disgusted noises/faces.

Consider the fact that we (mostly guys) have testosterone, and considering we no longer hunt for our food, we have to get some savage impulses out, so in order to keep us from killing people, we watch unsuspecting characters fall into the plotline of torture and aguish. But that's just a guess.

Everyone has their own opinions on movies. Some like it and enjoy watching these movies. And we know it's not real, so some people are able to handle these gruesome movies.

Or maybe it's because people hate people and they want to see people get killed.

Ive never seen any gory movie i was not permitted to and i never have. Now i dont allow them in my home nor for them to be mentioned in my presents this keeps me away from the whites reality and on with mine!

It's the "fear factor". People LOVE to be scared. That's why people swallow bad news so readily. -Gives them something to worry about besides how they're going to pay their credit card bills this month... (in reality; THAT'S what they're really afraid of!)
