What's the reality you're trying to run from? I know how it can be when we try to bury our problems by staying busy so we can avoid certain situations, but I've also learned the hard way that avoiding problems doesn't work. So I guess the first question is what you're running from. If I can help in any way, feel free to drop me a line at chad@jesusfreak.com. Also check out a little bit about my life at the first link below.

Reality is relative. What you're talking about is facing social situations. A lot of people are anxious (usually unknowingly) about social situations (the knee-jerk reaction of, "I don't want to say anything because I'll look stupid.")
The DVD sets are good, because there are no commercials. I feel your pain there. I don't even watch them during the Super Bowl.
Ask this "Jeremy" if he knows any people with interests similar to yours (gamers, maybe?), and if so, to introduce you.

It almost sounds to me like you may have a social anxiety disorder where meeting new people or being around groups of people makes you uncomfortable.
All I can say is, it is your life. You do what you feel makes you most comfortable. Maybe try to ease yourself back into the social scene if you feel like you need to socialize with other people.
Don't worry.......it'll be ok.

Just go out and meet new people. Don't worry about what people say to you. You can face reality by spending time with others and helping others.

yes i agree with u that "computer life is fun" but only as long as u have money in ur pocket to pay tha cost (like electricity bills, net bills ,and if there is problem to pc paying the price)and if u run out of money than computer life is out of ur life . but if u go outside and meet friends its a lot of fun (if they dont tease u).
what is fun do u know it ?it means that "other become happy not u"and than this makes u happy too.(understand wat i mean!).
if u dont go outside u will become conservative and ur confidence will go away(i can bet on this) and negative thoughts come in mind (like people dont like me ,i hate myself etc etc) so go outside and remember dont think wat others say about u think how u can make other people happy.
and if u r afraid in crowed much than this could be a "AGOROPHOBIA" a psychological disorder in which person fears of going outside.if u feel u r afraid in the crowed very much u can contact to the psychitrist

The only problem I see, is your so called "friend" Jeremy. He sucks. With friends like that, I don't blame you for staying in.
