Given: regular square pyramid V-ABCD with base edge 6 m.,?
slant height forms an angle of 30 degrees with the base.
Compute:
a. height or altitude of the pyramid
√3 m, from a 30-60-90 special triangle:the shorter leg = the longer leg/√3

b. slant height
2√3 m, from a 30-60-90 special triangle:the hyp.= 2*the shorter leg

c. area of lateral face of BCV
(1/2)(6)(2√3)
= 6√3 m^2

d. area of base
6*6 = 36 m^2

e. lateral area
24√3 m^2, from 4*6√3 m^2

a. height or altitude of the pyramid
Height = √3 m

b. slant height
Slant Height = 2√3 m

c. area of lateral face of BCV
Area = ½bh = ½*6*2√3 = 6√3 m²

d. area of base
Area = 6*6 = 36 m²

e. lateral area
Lateral Area = 4c = 4*6√3 = 24√3 m²

Sahsjing is correct.

Use formula Volume = 1/3 length of base squared x height - if finding height of pyramid - or 1/3 pi r squared x height for the cone. You need to make sure are answering what is being asked - the second sentence implies you are looking for the volume of the pyramid - the problem with dangling modifiers, (height is actual height - so you need to find this from knowing that the cone height is the square root of the slant height squared minus radius squared).

I asked a question over 5 times, everytime it seems to work normally but the question isn't shown at all in the mathematics section where I put it. Could everyone please click into my profile on the left hand side and answer my year/grade 11 Geometry and trigonometry question. Thanks so much! Please explain to me if possible why my questions aren't appearing so no one can answer them unless they go onto my profile and click on the question I have asked. Thanks so much.
