If you babysit, are you supposed to report the income? If not what happens, where do you go to look this up? Can you deposit into a savings account

Yep, you are supposed to book it and report it. Last time I looked more than $600 of self employment income per year means you file taxes. In theory, the employers should be witholding tax, fica, etc.
The real deal is nobody worries about this petty stuff.
