I'm a home maker and i'm bored to death! Does any body know of some good crafts that i can do at home that won't take up too much space and money? I really like woodsey stuff (like bears, moose, fish, pinecones, etc) and i'm expecting my first baby in August. I also enjoy yard decor stuff (windchimes, benches, bird feeders, etc) Your help would be greatly appreciated!!!

Buy a few blocks of colorful polymer clay ( readily available at all craft store and on line) and try your hand at sculpting. Find an instruction book that will show you how to make simple canes ( tubes and sheets of different color clay put together to make a long narrow design and then sliced into multiple identical pieces to decorate a variety of objects) and how to use them on everyday household objects to make your home unique and colorful. Once you start, your probably will be hooked and you will be surprised how quickly time passes. It is not a messy of expensive hobby to start...you don't need a kiln because the clay bakes in your home oven....just take precautions addressed in most instruction books to protect your oven so it can be used for food.

on the grounds that my kin is amazingly useful: one 365 days I gave out present day baskets. I hunted down sales and clipped coupons for products I knew one and all needed or needed yet might desire to no longer usually purchase. the effect grew to alter into astounding right into a severe severe high quality individualized present day that saved on giving by employing out the 365 days. yet yet another 365 days: I crocheted afghans there have been the dinners in a field. I gave those out to close pals the week earlier Christmas. I made ziti, packed them in microwaveable packing bins, lined bread, bagged salad, bottle of soda. cakes and the needed paper products so as that clean-up grew to alter into astounding right into a 5 minute pastime. the days earlier the trip journeys get so demanding that no one has the time to prepare an astounding meal. I stated as this one the present of time and it grew to alter into astounding right into a brilliant hit. we've made embellishes and dessert bags. i wish this helps!

Make your own potpourri. Collect fallen pine cones, unique shaped leaves, twigs, seed pods, acorns, nuts, etc... add a little essential oil and you've got your own natural potpourri. You can continue to add to it as you find more pieces of nature.

Note:
To kill the little criters that sometimes live in those natural items. Put everything in a large ziplock bag and put it in the freezer for a couple of weeks.

You could always set up a gas forge...not only would that build muscle tone, it would let you create whatever you wanted that is metal, without the adverse effects of burning coal or wood.
