I have a ton of child/ toddler clothes, a few adult male pants/jeans and some Age5-7ish clothes.
Anything else I had I threw in the trash- not worth putting out since only baby and child clothes and adult male pants tend to sell.
My question: If I put up a sign that said "All clothing items 25 cents, 10 cents for stained/ damaged items"
Is that low enough to move them? See any potential problems?

As someone suggested having a "Free” Clothes pile- I did consider this. My only concern is that people will start to claim that the “for sale” items were in the free pile.
I know this sounds petty for 25 cents on my part, but dang it, I don’t want to be cheated, it’s the principle of the matter.
(I once chased someone down for 10 cents as they made a mad dash for their vehicle with an item.)
If you have any ideas on how to make a viable free pile, I think putting out a “Free” Pile is an excellent idea.

Yes it is!
My wife and I love yardsales and have had some ourselves.
If you are having the sale to get rid of stuff too good to throw away this is totally great.
Some folks try to subsidise their income. This won't cut it. I'd rather pay a little more and get it new at the store than take a chance on a used item for $2 less than I can get it at Target for.

Give them a compliment something like ( you seem like a nice person) give them something that you was going to give away and watch your sales double . DO NOT have a free pile then people will think you have all junk that's why your giving things away. I use to set up at flee markets allot .Another thing I learnt NO NOT SALE TO CHEAP then they think the same thing . I was trying to sell a car I started out asking $500 for it ,nobody $400 nobody $300 nobody then a Friend of mine sez you know there is an a-ss hole for every seat so I put a sign on it for $800 the first car that went by made a U TURN AND BOUGHT THE CAR FOR $800 Go figure . People are funny when they are buying things. OH one more thing spray a little perfume around that really works.

That is way too cheap to sell I would do something for the Stained clothes or more worn out ones put them on a table and get those plastic grocery store bags and put up a sign thats says Fill A Bag For $ 1 ...The other items I wouls price @ $ 1 each and leave room to haggle down... It always works for me ... If you have Nicer hardly worn or in good shape stuff put $ 2 or $ 3 on it... You can always Haggle down.. and remember not to pile high the stuff try to make tables with certain sizes on them only or themed like Mens, baby, toddler, womens, this way things dont get that messed up... Good luck and a Tip.... Always ask your self when u are pricing something..Would I pay this amount for this ?

Very little or no. do not think of of advertising outfits at a storage sale as a share of keep value till that share is a few thing like 10%. the main an outfit might desire to choose for is $10.... $15 once you're fortunate. difficult disguise books consistent with probability $3-5. Bilingual Elmo, some dollars. The DVD's consistent with probability $5. My mom had a storage sale and made approximately $one hundred fifty or so advertising various junk (alongside with an added mattress we had... $forty)

All that sounds fine, I would keep the ones you threw in trash and let people sort through them. Clothes tend to be really hard to sell, since new ones are now relatively cheap with workers from foreign countries =( but some will definitely move. Seems a little too cheap, but that's always good. Donate the ones that you can't get rid of, there are alwas people in need of something to wear.

I'd mark everything at 50 cents and give discounts to anyone who buys mulitple items. Something like 50 cents each or 5 for $2.

ya, instead of having "10 cents for stained/damaged items" put up 10 cents for others....and uh...put the price up alittle...like 1$ on the "all clothing items"...people'll buy fast. so worth it to them too.

If you have decent things that are clean, I'd start with $1.00 each and work your way down from there.
Of course, that's the yard saling in my area, which is very very very active and hot.
