I hate hair gel b/c it kills your hair and isn't healthy for your scalp. What alternatives can I use and how do I keep it all healthy and clean?

models use a lot of styling products and gel and they look beautiful on screen. However they do have their bad hair day outside of work. If you hate hair gel there are alternatives like a soy-based hairwax by healthysexyhair. But lets face it, most styling products are bad for your hair but they do make your hair look good (I can't live without my hairspray and frenzy bulkup pomade). The trick is you have to combine the routine by investing in a good leave-in conditioner and hair repair serum. Then you get the best of both worlds.

The hair serum I use is Kerastase conditioner serum and Vita5 phase1 leave in. They do wonders for my hair.

Man you'd have to use an awful lot of gel to kill your hair!! The best thing is to rinse it out every day. You don't even need to wash your hair every day but rinse it well and get your scalp too. Product will not make your hair unhealthy unless it's cheap stuff. Use good quality products, it doesn't take a lot.

Good gel that is not loaded with alcohol does not kill your hair. Paul Mitchell, Aveda, and most other top end products are great.

Cheap shampoo and conditioner? Cheap results. Get professional products and use sparingly as designed. Your hair will be soft and shiny every day.

I don't know, but some of the models that I know simply use really good hairwash products. Plus, they don't keep the gunk on too long if they can help it. One of them really likes a mix of Head and Shoulders + Pantene ProV. One for shampoo and other for conditioner. Not sure which is which though =/
