You apparently approved to be a honest and trustworthy friend. To this day, it seems like you never betrayed him or did anything to make him not trust you. But, if he's close, then he wouldn't be trusting you blindly, because he should know you pretty well. Trusting someone blindly, means not knowing them enough to actually know, but most likely has trust in people in general.

Perhaps he just plain innocent.. like he hasn't really been hurt before, particularly by a friend, so he doesn't know that pulling away/not totally trusting a friend is something the he would want to do. When somebody hasn't had much life experience with something, particularly human relationships, they often don't know too much about it, and they don't know everything to do/not do. I think you should feel kind of honored that somebody would trust you completely, though, even if it is rather naive. Try not to hurt him, and make that open heart close :o) Perhaps he also thinks/has been subconsciously taught that being best friends with somebody means you MUST trust them blindly. Who knows, really.. It could be those reasons, or a lot of other ones. Maybe if you ask him, he won't even be able to give you a complete answer.. I guess it's just something he feels/thinks inside.

Probably this may sound illogical to some but the only trust i have is in God, that God will do whats meant to be for me and i will make my decisions and others that make their decisions however they interact with me, good or bad, that will be to the judgement of Allah swt. By my nature I'm very warm and loyal and if you would like me to walk the highest mountain, with you just tell me when to put on my boots to support you. Do i trust myself to do and think what is right all of the time? no way. Human beings are the most unpredictable, and you never know what is really going on in their lives so if you say tell some one a secret expect another person to hear it. I still believe for all our human failings that we are still beautiful beings. An example of this is my nephew- A beautiful human being- i think i mentioned before he was born at only 5 months gestation instead of nine- anyway he is so disabled that at 8 years old he thinks, acts, talks like a 3 year old, really i cant describe his kindness by words, when he sees a person he just wants to kiss, cuddle and repeat the same words over over, he loves everyone and everything, but you know what he is capable of telling a lie.. yes many times he makes up lies, not from bad intentions but from human fantasy.. yet he is the most decent you will find- i don't know if that makes sense.. @ zoser how can it not be from a religious point of view if this is how we feel, each person feels and experiences differently, of cause each person has his God (does that mean we experienced God enough to trust?) but each also have thier own experience and this is why from my perspective life has taught me to trust in God only- so i cant say i trust another human being blindly and to what extent because each person has his/her failings- like you im well travelled and met the good the bad, the ugly and the beautiful.

(trust you) has never seen you be untrustworthy.i mean that maybe he has never seen you spill others secrets, so he thinks that he can trust you
