It began in seventh grade when I moved from the city borders to the suburbs. I literally just stopped caring. I don't know why or what the heck happened, but it has been seriously affecting my life. School, family, friends, jobs, I seriously could not bring myself to try in anything.
My grades began slipping but I somehow passed high school and made it into a college (by the way I was accepted into 2 out of 25).
So here I am now in my dorm, unable to bring myself to continue trying. Right now I just missed three classes and I can't seem to care. The worst part is that nothing is wrong in my life.
I'm on good terms with family, friends, classmates, and whatnot. So why is it that I cannot bring myself to try in school? Or in life? Sometimes I just want to keel over and die. Can anyone help? Any answer is fine, whether it be degrading or uplifting, the more answers the better.
And on a side note, I would never take the "easy" way out and commit suicide.

you say it began in seventh grade when your family moved to the suburbs. My questions to you would be What did you leave behind when you moved? How much involvement did you have in the decision about when to move and where to move to? How did you feel about the level of control you had in that decision? How did you feel about the move? What caused the move? What did you lose in the move? What part of your life changed indelibly by moving house?
Find someone to talk to about these questions. You hold the answers. Only you can unlock the door because only you have the key.
It does sound like you are in grief about the move and have not been able to move through the grief. Unresolved sadness and grief will affect a person's life in the way you describe here. I would recommend you find a good counsellor and tell them what you told us and what your answer to my aove questions are. A good counsellor can help you find a way to resolve your grief and move on into adult life in a more positive way by helping you learn strategies that can help you.

Hey, man. I know what you mean. Sometimes I even feel that way - When it seems like there's no point in doing anything. Weather it's exerting any kind of emotion into daily life, you've just lost the feeling.

Guess what? It's not depression. It's nothing serious. And don't let anybody tell you it is.

What I've found (in searching for some kind of answer at all), is that there's always something that brings you back - something that makes you NOT want to die. First of all, you have to pinpoint exactly what this is. Hunt it down, find it, and study why you feel this way about it. If it's something simple, the reason will be apparent: for example, relative or girlfriend = love.

So once you're sure about what this is, embrace it. Hold onto it. Cherish the moment, and realize that if you weren't here, you wouldn't be able to share that moment you feel with somebody else. Not to mention, people would miss you if you weren't here.

All in all, you need to do some serious thinking - find that spot within yourself that makes it all seem worth it.

Remember: Even if you're jammed up inside a cubicle every week day, then party it up on the weekend! (that's my motto anyway)

Good luck man, you'll find your way out of this mess.

Nietzsche maintained that all human behavior is motivated by the will to power. In its positive sense, the will to power is not simply power over others, but the power over oneself that is necessary for creativity. Such power is manifested in the overman's independence, creativity, and originality. Although Nietzsche explicitly denied that any overmen had yet arisen, he mentions several individuals who could serve as models. Among these models he lists Jesus, Greek philosopher Socrates, Florentine thinker Leonardo da Vinci, Italian artist Michelangelo, English playwright William Shakespeare, German author Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, Roman ruler Julius Caesar, and French emperor Napoleon I.

It's not because you don't care. This is because education is not something you want to do.

Be it working in construction, joining the Marines, or volunteering in one of the many non-profit organizations out to save the world, you would feel like you belong more so to another thing than education.

Great luck finding where you belong. Do know that it's not "abnormal".

You may be suffering from burnout. Take a personal day and do something you would do on a dare or very different or what you have been wanting to do for along time. Just for a change in routine. Maybe that might help.
