The forester is nothing more than a wanna - be four wheel drive truck. There's absolutely no reason to be driving four wheels when there's no snow plus you have no choice, your always driving four wheels. The little four cylinder is noisy, rides harshly, no comfortable room and when you run out of warranty replacement parts will kill your wallet. The Trailblazer has a full frame, much better disc brakes, engines (you have a choice) are dead silent the transfer cases are extremely reliable AND you can elect to buy a two wheel drive model if you desire. Their engines are a whole lot more powerful. The small V8 will knock down 23 -26 on trips. Why wheeze along with a gutless noisy 4 cylinder ( it's not a quiet Toyota) when you can ride in a smooth, firm, comfortable vehicle.

The trail blazer by far. How many subarus do you see on the road on a daily basis? Very few - there must be a reason.
Make sure you get the undercoating to protect it from the salt.
