If you are talking about making it from the elements, it would be 2B + 3I2 -> 2BI3, since boron is trivalent.

Bore has valence 3 ; iodine valence 1

So 3 I atoms i,teract with one atome boron to give BI3

and as iodine exists under I2
2 B +3 I2 ---> 2BI3
