Dear Madame:

I've always wanted to see a ballet to 1) the theme from Jaws, and 2) Tchaikovsky's 1812 Overture. See if you can mimic the canons at the end!

I'm not so sure about the music because I used a recording of a jazz piece by Ravel once for my ballet recital. But it was a long time ago and wasn't pointe work. You can watch the movie A Time For Dancing- the soundtrack is good you can use music from there.

Chopin's piano music would be great, the etudes for more energetic music and the nocturnes for slower songs. I went to a ballet workshop just this past weekend and they used a lot of solo piano music like Chopin and Liszt. They also make instrumental only versions of opera music, which is great. they had an orchestra only version of the opera "Carmen" which they used for several dances, and it works very well because that opera has a lot of songs that were meant to be danced to. Good Luck!
