I am going to do labour alone this time

and last time I went into labour before I was even 1/2 done prenatal classes and made it just fine

What is the point if you are doing labour alone (a friend will come to classes with me for support, but no one in the delivery room)?

You need to learn as much about what is going to be going on around you during labor and birth. Taking prenatal classes isn't just for couples. Take your friend with you to classes for company and then maybe to the hospital for support, but this latter is not a necessity.

I did a medication free labor, and found the that class we took was not really that helpful. I already knew about the progression of labor and efacement and dialation and all that, and the breathing stuff was crap. The only nugget of gold I got was to demand a rocking chair after the nurses told me they didn't have one. One magically appeared and it was a God-send for my medication free labor. One of my nurses, my mom, and one sentence from my hubby was what got me through it all.

How long has it been since your last pregnancy? I think you should go just for a brush up. Maybe go for the last half this time!

no, they are not necessary, especially if you are not a first time parent. Some people choose to take them if they want a medication free delivery or some other specific reason. But you certainly don't need to take classes in order to have a successful labor.

are you talking about childbirthing classes? they are informative to go to but it isn't necessary. but I would recommend going because it's cool because there's always something new to learn, but I had my baby early so i missed it but i didn't feel like i missed out in a way because i was pretty informed already. and yes you can have someone in with you in the labor and delivery. you can have 2 people in the room with you, and if you're getting a c section then it's only one person. But if you feel comfortable with everything then don't waste your time if you already know what to expect with the labor and afterwards.

absolutely take a form, convey questions, take notes. that is so interesting to in hardship-free words see the different expectant mommies and also you usually study a minimum of a touch. Take your mom or sister too. yet for my area I say do not take instructions that practice you via being depending. like the completed respiratory technique, you'll clearly understand how best to respire to ease soreness. That stuff receives lost once you're in difficult artwork besides.

Your body knows exactly what to do...especially if you've done it before! Prenatal classes are a way to inform women (partners) who have no clue what to expect. You'll do fine.

Of course.

No one teach us to be parents, there is no school for that, unless you take special lessons
