TOTALLY NORMAL!!! I've had abdominal cramping since i was about 6 weeks pregnant and i am nearly 20 weeks now. Sometimes i get it quite bad especially on my right side, but all scans have revealed there is NOTHING wrong. Only take paracetemol if it gets REALLY painful but don't worry, you are not alone! I was convinced i was having an ectopic pregnancy at the start but the cramping kept moving from one side to the other so i knew it probably wasn't that. I have to admit though, the pains were VERY similar to the after pains i got when i had my first baby. I was cramping for 2/3 days after the birth due to the womb contracting and shrinking. I assume the pains are just the womb expanding (it is worse second time round for me, i don't think i had any pains in the early stages with my first pregnancy)

This is soooo common. Im currently 11 weeks pregnant and up until I was 8 weeks i had cramps, that made me feel like I was due on anytime. Its my third pregnancy and my first two werent like that so naturally I was worried but since then looking at the answers and questions about that particular subject on here and various other pregnancy sites it seems like loads of us have these cramping sensations for a good while. I actually even bled aswell at 6 and a half weeks but all was fine, it lasted a few days and then stopped. I know its hard to try and reassure you but please try not to worry too much. All im saying is if you could see how many women have cramps in the first few months of pregnancy and go on to have the baby im sure you'd feel less concerned. Congrats on the pregnancy and hope all goes well. Goodluck x

I had abdominal pain when i was six weeks preg. I took myself to A&E because I was so worried. I had a number of internal examinations and a scan the day later. Everything was fine and no one could explain why I had had these pains or what they were just to be assured that every thing was ok.. Today I have a 2 year old running around with a chipped front tooth.. It's a whole load of worrying we set our selves up for!!

It sounds normal, you should only really get worried if you have crippling cramps/pains (that aren't wind) and/or heavy bleeding. I have the same stomach pains and i'm also 7 weeks :) it's nothing to worry about

you do not mention your age, is this your first pregnancy?
there could be a few things to NOT worry about...like the round ligaments stretching, the uterus getting bigger to accomodate the growing faetus...
but there are a few things TO worry about and that is: ectopic pregnancy (usually seen about weeks 6 to 8), and placental placement problems...
you need to see your doc very soon to have an ultrasound done
good luck

I have had many miscarriages. If it's your first pregnancy, I would call your OBGYN, just to get it checked out. It could just be the stretching of ligaments, but it could be something else. I hope the best for you.
