just ask him to just go over to your house one time, for a swim or something! And just tell him some of your problems if you have any....(that is if you feel comfortable talking to him like that), then he'll be there for you and your bond will become tighter cuz u both will go to each other for comfort and support!

some people ,like people as friends ,just friends and other think that liking someone as a friedn means a "crush" so i suggest you go for it.it's a guy you tried to make friends with, your just trying to make better friends with him that's not a problem and he should ask you before he comes up with ideas that you like him or that you are lying.if you dont become better friends with him thats all right there are other people that you could have that opportunity to be friends with you.i'm sure that you are a great person and that you friend's just not looking at the things that matter if he turns you down.good luck!

How about asking him to hang out with you and your friends? LIke say something, "Me and my friends are getting together at the bowling alley. Like fifteen people are coming. Do you wanna come, since we need someone to actually SCORE?" Or just throw a big school party and invite him. The question is, do you like him? If you do, don't be afraid to show it. Just ask him out.

First, tap into his hobbies.
LIke, into that undergrond band scene
Check out the local bands playing your area and talk about it, if he's interested be like, well hey, why don't we go together?
Movie buff?
figure out what movies he likes or genre, find amovie like that, in that genre, and talk about it and bring up that maybe you should see it together, meet up there or something.

dont ask him out in a one-to-one date, but maybe in a group outing? then, you can find opportunities to talk to him while in a group, and most people feel more relaxed and open when you're not in a one-to-one awkward situation. at least that's how i feel.
