he sounds just like mine. I think, after years of having struggled with this, that especially once the kids are in high school, they start seeing that there is an end to the tunnel...and it's terrifying. It may be that he feels he's not ready to grow up just yet, and he's delaying it the only way he knows how (whether or not he's even aware he's doing it!) Or it may simply be that he's getting different pressure from you at home than he is at school. Is this the only class he's failing? If so, there may be pressure from some individual in that class to be a "Bad Boy". Getting good grades isn't always cool. Hang in there. Regardless, he'll get his head screwed on straight eventually!

That's what you get for not being more stern when raising a kid. The constant pampering and letting them get away with everything from an early age leads to such behaviour and eventually juvenile court or a morgue later on. Of course he doesn't respect you, you're a woman. In "modern society" women are considered to be ornaments by many, especially impressionable kids that take their role models from gangsta culture where the woman is just a plaything for the man, to be used and discarded at a whim. Kick the living daylights out of the brat if he threatens you, take away his cellphone and internet access, don't let him meet his "friends" except in school (and pick him up and drop him off there, extra embarassment for the kid and you have some certainty he's actually going there instead of skipping classes). Show you're boss, all you've done so far is affirm his image of you as the cow who takes care of groceries, cooking and laundry and should shut up and do as she's told.

It's normal for us kids to not give in our homework see I'm 12 right and I never do any of my homework but the thing is sometimes I do it like 2 minutes before class right so I don't get detention coz I gots a life man but the thing yeah I hate to admit it but homework is important but I think reason that he's not giving it in or not doing it at all is because it's either too hard or he just can't be arsed doing it-I mean both of those things happen to me I can't be arsed doing it and it is really hard most of the time. Here's a tip try asking him innit.
PEACE OUT

Sounds like he needs some incentive. Tell him he can forget to turn in his homework if he wants to, but if he comes in the house with anything lower than a B, life is going to be HELL. Take away all of his games, TV and anything else he loves until he gets his grades up and starts turning in his stuff.

Why in the world would he work so hard on homework and not turn it in..................... does he totally understand the subject.......
maybe he nees help and is afraid to turn the homework in. Talk with him and ask what's going on............. if he needs some help, then you as the parent are supposed to do something about it.

He may have developed an inferiority complex about his homework. He doesn't want anyone to see how "bad" he is at Spanish. He may also consider it to be unimportant at this time in his life.

I'm gonna guess cause your son isnt doing his homework and thats why he isnt turning it in. Why he's not doing lets see theres drugs, depression, he may not know how to do it and doesnt want to ask for help, he's a lazy slacker. If he is a lazy slacker you need to beat his *** and tell him to get to work.

Tell him that he needs to start handing it in or you will walk him to his teacher ever day to hand it in.
Maybe he's unorganized.
Maybe he could email it to the teacher
Maybe he's selling his homework to other children or a bully.

He does the work but doesnt hand it in? Thats strange. Maybe he has some sort of fear or anxiety disorder about possibly turning in something wrong and being laughed at....

I am 14 too and rarely do my HW. I usually just tell my parents that I do it and never do it. I regret it the next day when I have to hand it in and usually end up copying it from someone.
