Weather changes take place all over the globe. It's normal. Not the end of the world, not global warming, not the snow in Japan. Just because its always hot in Phils most of the time does not mean it can never get some poof of cold air occassionally. Don't worry, it will warm back to normal quickly. Now, if it were to become colder than 5C in Philippines for a period of 6 months, that would be something to worry about. You would all become light skin.

During January & February period, we are experiencing the so-called Siberian winds. The ice from Siberia are being blown toward the Southeast Asian region (particularly in the Philippine area), but the ice will already melt before it can reach the Philippines. That's why it's cold even if it's not snowing.

I forgot the exact details I heard in the news few days before but the cold weather here is because of the melting ice at the northern area, and the wind's carrying the cold air to our direction. I think some countries above us are experiencing the same weather.

Komusta kana...that's an excellent question. That's the same question they ask in Nairobi, Kenya. Climate experts believes that the cold weather can be attributed to global warming in other regions of the earth. What's happening in many tropical places like Africa and Philippines is that cold front in the nothern hemisphere have shifted a few degree south. The difference in temperature in many parts of the globe have also shifted the intensity and direction of air flow and water currents.

I guess cold is a matter of perception. I always find it to be very hot in the Philippines. Right now where I live, it is -7.8C and during the month of January, the temperature only made it above 0C twice.
I remember being in Baguio three years ago around Christmas and everybody was bundled up in down jackets, gloves and stocking caps and I was wearing sandals, shorts and a t-shirt.

I live in northern Luzon - I've heard it dropped to 10.6 degrees Celsius in Baguio. Cold! Global warming seems a bit extreme explanation. I really hope this weather is not here to stay, because it is too cold for me and the warmth is refreshing for me. dafrom: global warming melts the polar regions, making ice chunks float around the world. The ice is supposed to chill the world. I know, a confusing name.

IDK. but they said its also happpenin in US. cuz it snowed a bit in California. it never snowed there in 21 years. Dont you think its global warming? when the polar ice caps melt and suddenly it becames extremely cold and freezing?? just like in the movies? Also when we are attacked by rampaging tsunamis and tornadoes? and when there's a big great storm that almost covered half of the earth????.....
nah.......

Global warming! Haven't you heard? It would appear the Earth is in the midst of a climate change. All we can do is hold on and enjoy the ride.
